General info about .org Domains

.org domain names can only contain letters A-Z (case insensitive), digits 0-9 and hyphens (-);
Hyphens cannot be the first or last character; you cannot put 2 consecutives hiphens (--);
.org domain must have minimum 3 and maximum 64 characters (extension excluded);
.org domain must not include spaces;

.org domains can be registered for minimum 1 year and maximum 10 years and, of course, always be renewed by the owner.

It is not needed to set Nameservers before registering the domain.
Nameservers must be between 2 and 13; it's not necessary for Nameservers to reside in different subnets. If you don't insert the Nameservers in the Profile, during the Registration Process, the Ormag ones will be used. You will be able to change them anytime.

.org Domain Transfer

IMPORTANT INFO FOR TRANSFER-IN:
Retrieve, from the current Provider, the Authorization Code (Transfer Code, Authcode or EPP Key);

no paperwork is required;
domain must be registered / renewed / transferred for at least 60 days;
domain should not be blocked by the current registrar. Otherwise, ask for unlocking;
The e-mail address of Registrant and Admin-C contacts must be active and reachable;
It is advisable to request domain transfer at least 2 months before expiration.
TRANSFER NEWS: After the last changes made to the GDPR (from 25 May 2018), during the transfer of generic domains, the confirmation email will no longer be sent to the address of the Administrative contact. Therefore, the transfer will take place after approximately 5-7 days, at most, considering the time required by the regulation for approval by the transferor Registrar, if the EPP code is correct.

STARTING FROM DECEMBER 1ST of 2016 ICANN MADE IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE REGULATION:

CHANGE REGISTRATION DATA
For the change of the name / surname, company and email address, the confirmation of the old and new account holder will be requested. If both do not confirm within 60 days, the change will not be made. If both will confirm, the required changes will be made within 24 hours.

PRIVACY PROTECTION
In respect of European Regulation (UE) 2016/679, new domain's registration data will be automatically hidden and, then, won't be showed in Whois searches.

Restore .org domains

IMPORTANT: Starting from the 36th day after expiration date, renewals will be charged with a fine. The Restore cost will be directly added inside of the .org domain renewal order. The domain will be automatically suspended on the expiration day and Restore can be ordered during the next 30 days.

From January 15th, 2014 onwards, in the following cases, checks on the header data will be carried out by the respective authorities:

registration of a domain by a new user;
domain transfer;
change of Registrant data during the maintenance period.

When registration / transfer is completed an email will be sent by Ormag (in English, with "RAA verification mail " as subject) to the address of the Registrant Contact requesting the confirmation of the header data by clicking a link, thus allowing completion of verification. You must confirm the email within 15 days from receipt (if not confirmed, the same email will be sent after 7 and 14 days). If the Registrant does not complete the control in time, the domain will be deactivated by changing nameservers and will be redirected to a page explaining the reason for deactivation and inviting the Registrant to contact his Provider to complete data verification. If the Registrant already owns a domain and header data are not different, the verification email will not be sent.

IMPORTANT: none of our contracts is automatically or tacitly renewed. Two months before the expiration date, you will be contacted by Ormag by e-mail and will be able to decide on the renewal of the expiring services.
