General info about .de Domains
- .de domain names can only contain letters A-Z (case insensitive), digits 0-9 and hyphens (-);
- Hyphens cannot be the first or last character; you cannot put 2 consecutives hiphens (--);
- .de domain must have minimum 3 and maximum 64 characters (extension excluded);
- .de domain must not include spaces;

Visitors who will type the domain name will be redirected to another web space / URL. URL redirects are of two types:
- Forwarding URLs : Redirects the domain name to another web address; in the address bar the destination address will be shown;
- Alias: Makes the domain name point to a hosting plan already purchased on ormag.com; the address bar will continue to show the domain name
Maximum period of registration for .de domains
.de domains can be registered for minimum 1 year and maximum 10 years and, of course, always be renewed by the owner.

NS check for .de domains
It is not needed to set Nameservers before registering the domain.
Nameservers must be between 2 and 13; it's not necessary for Nameservers to reside in different
subnets. If you don't insert the Nameservers in the Profile, during the Registration Process,
the Ormag ones will be used. You will be able to change them anytime.
Local Presence for .de domains
- .de domains can only be registered by natural or legal persons residing/based in Germany;
- Although the admin must reside in Germany, the domain owner may not even reside there;
- Ormag offers the Local Presence service, in case you do not have a residence / office in Germany, at an additional cost of € 5.00 (VAT excluded) for each domain name to be registered / transferred click here - This service will be renewed annually with each domain it is associated with.
Restrictions about .de domains
Domain names .de can only be registered by natural or legal persons having residence/seat in Germany. Otherwise, Ormag offers the Local Presence service, as said above. click here
.de domain transfer
- Request the domain transfer code (AuthInfo) from the current Provider;
- The domain must not be blocked by the current Registrar, in this case ask for releasing;
- It is advisable to request the domain transfer at least 15 days before the expiry date;
- The domain expiration date coincides with the date of transfer with the addition of one year.
Restore .de domains
IMPORTANT: Starting from the expiration day, renewals will be charged with a fine. The Restore cost will be directly added inside of the .de domain renewal order. The domain will be automatically suspended on the expiration day and Restore can be ordered during the next month, just by paying for it. After one month from the expiration date has passed, more than the paymant, the letter that Denic will send via ordinary mail to the Registrant will have to be sent to us.
IMPORTANT: none of our contracts is automatically or tacitly renewed. Two months before the expiration date, you will be contacted by Ormag by e-mail and will be able to decide on the renewal of the expiring services.
