General info about .com.cy Domains
- .com.cy domain names can only contain letters A-Z (case insensitive), digits 0-9 and hyphens (-);
- Hyphens cannot be the first or last character; you cannot put 2 consecutives hiphens (--);
- .com.cy domain must have minimum 3 and maximum 64 characters (extension excluded);
- .com.cy domain must not include spaces;

- copy of “Certificate of the Board of Directors”;
- copy of “Identity/Passport of one of the Directors of the company”. For physical persons (from Cyprus);

- Forwarding URLs : Redirects the domain name to another web address; in the address bar the destination address will be shown;
- Alias: Makes the domain name point to a hosting plan already purchased on ormag.com; the address bar will continue to show the domain name
Maximum period of registration for .com.cy domains
.com.cy domains can be registered for minimum 1 year and maximum 10 years and,
of course, always be renewed by the owner.
Expiration month will always be December of the year following registration
regardless of domain registration date (example: registration date September
2019 – expiration date December 2020. Therefore, for the first year, the fee of
months exceeding won't be charged).

NS check for .com.cy domains
It is not needed to set Nameservers before registering the domain.
Nameservers must be between 2 and 13; it's not necessary for Nameservers to reside in different
subnets. If you don't insert the Nameservers in the Profile, during the Registration Process,
the Ormag ones will be used. You will be able to change them anytime.
Local Presence for .com.cy domains
Local presence, for Cyprus, is mandatory (residence for physical persons or companies registered in Cyprus). Otherwise, Ormag offers a yearly Local Presence Service that can be purchased here. Local Presence Service has to be associated to each and every .com.cy domain to be registered/renewed/transferred.
Restrictions about .com.cy domains
It is mandatory to have Local Presence in Cyprus (Local Presence Service is available in the “Local presence for .com.cy domains” paragraph, above). Expiration date will always be in the month of December of the year following registration.

Restore .com.cy domains
IMPORTANT: starting from expiration date, renewals will be charged with a fine. Restore fee will be directly added during the renewal order for expired .com.cy domain. The domain will be automatically suspended in the same day of expiration
IMPORTANT: none of our contracts is automatically or tacitly renewed. Two months before the expiration date, you will be contacted by Ormag by e-mail and will be able to decide on the renewal of the expiring services.
