General info about .cn Domains
- .cn domain names can only contain letters A-Z (case insensitive), digits 0-9 and hyphens (-);
- Hyphens cannot be the first or last character; you cannot put 2 consecutives hiphens (--);
- .cn domain must have minimum 3 and maximum 64 characters (extension excluded);
- .cn domain must not include spaces;
Required Documentation for .cn domains
Chinese Authority has heavily modified the rules applying to .cn domains, allowing free registration to both physical and legal persons located in foreigner countries, Italy included. It will be requested the following documentation (Autority may ask for an english version of these documents):
- VAT Number attribution certification
- copy of the legal representative ID. While, if the applicant is a company present in China or Hong Kong, the following documents are required: For applicants from China and Hong Kong: Registrant Company Business License(jpeg format), the license should be within the period of validity Registrant Company Certificate of Organization Code/(jpeg format) Registrant contact identity card copy (both sides, jpeg format). Domain name(s) that used for website where server is located in mainland China now or in the future, the ICP number must be applied from MIIT in accordance to the Chinese Government’s regulations. ICP number shall be provided to the domain name registrar when available. For Hong Kong’s Applicant: Business Registration (BR) Certificate (jpeg format), the license should be within the period of validity. Registrant contact identity card copy (both sides, jpeg format). Domain name(s) that used for website where server is located in mainland China now or in the future, the ICP number must be applied from MIIT in accordance to the Chinese Government’s regulations. ICP number shall be provided to the domain name registrar when available.

Visitors who will type the domain name will be redirected to another web space / URL. URL redirects are of two types:
- Forwarding URLs : Redirects the domain name to another web address; in the address bar the destination address will be shown;
- Alias: Makes the domain name point to a hosting plan already purchased on ormag.com; the address bar will continue to show the domain name

.cn domains can be registered for minimum 1 year and maximum 10 years and, of course, always be renewed by the owner.

NS check for .cn domains
It is not needed to set Nameservers before registering the domain.
Nameservers must be between 2 and 13; it's not necessary for Nameservers to reside in different
subnets. If you don't insert the Nameservers in the Profile, during the Registration Process,
the Ormag ones will be used. You will be able to change them anytime.
Local Presence for .cn domains
Not required.
Restrictions about .cn domains
Since the Authority heavily modified the rules applying to .cn domain registration, there are no particular restrictions and .cn domains can be registered from other countries, Italy included. Those subjects who don't have local presence in an authorized country can purchase the Local Presence Service from our website.
.cn domain transfer
The AuthInfo code (transfer code) has to be requested to actual provider, along with eventual domain unlocking. The email address of the registrant's account has to be active for giving transfer confirmation.
Restore domini .cn
IMPORTANT: .cn domains are automatically suspended on the day of expiration but they can be renewed (paying the usual renewal fee) within 40 days (Redemption Period). Within the 15 days following the Redemption Period, Restoring will still be an option but its fee will be higher. After this last period, domain will be in Pending Delete status and renewal will not be on the table anymore and, after some days, the domain will be avialable to anyone who will want to purchase it.
IMPORTANT: none of our contracts is automatically or tacitly renewed. Two months before the expiration date, you will be contacted by Ormag by e-mail and will be able to decide on the renewal of the expiring services.
